Just kidding. [ casting a glance towards the container, she did frown, however, and a little of her lackadaisacal attitude shed a layer. ] Did we ever hear whether those scratches were on the inside or the outside of the box?

Perhaps someone decided they'd just like a souvenir. If they called the place home, they probably didn't want to leave a shred of it behind for us to ogle.
[ and steel splinters are quite handy to have when revenge is on the mind. Poor things probably didn't have a clue they were about to be stuffed inside a box and left to rot. ]
