[ Luckily enough, Korol is angered enough by the fighting going on around him that he doesn't take offence at this newcomer not liking cats. There'll be time enough for that later. Once he gets the chance, he'll be very keen to change her mind.
Sturmhond ignores that comment as well, and gestures to her instead. The sheer violence and strength she's exhibiting is reason enough. ]
Well, Blue and Green are in this together, and with moves like that I'd expect Green. You're powerful, strong. You'd make a good soldier.
[ Korol turns them, whipping the razor-sharp edge of his tail against another Neraki. It slices across the creatures skin, making it wail, and Sturmhond follows this up with a plasma blast to the face. That stops the wailing, though the Neraki still doesn't look dead. His brow knits with concentration, but he's still quipping to Asuka. ]
[ Korol shouldn't take too much offense from it. Asuka just doesn't like most animals. Dogs, cats, penguins. Maybe it's because she doesn't quite understand what she's missing. Her world has always been rather barren. Lonely. Too many humans, too few of the other species, and humans were never very good at connecting with each other. Unlike animals.
She knows a compliment when she hears one. Sturmhond earns a little pleased smirk from her, before she remembers not to let it get to her head. (It already got to her head). But this guy's still showing off. She barely has enough action for herself with the guy and the cat taking on most of the Neraki.
Not that she really minds. ]
Okay. So where do you put the pretty and smart-talking ones?
[ That makes him grin. Anyone who can sass while they strike is going to get a positive reaction from him; he likes this girl.
The Neraki are far less favourable, which is the other point that makes him like her. He keeps fighting, blowing back as many of them as he can. His strategy here is to prevent them from touching him, because if they do, he'll be done for. He knows he can't take them on at their own game, like she is. They're too strong.
Outmoving and outthinking them is the only way he'll win. ]
Flattery will get you everywhere, lovely. I'm Blue Team. I'd love to say this is all going according to plan, but this lot seem intent on spoiling the party.
[ Which is rich, considering the CDC are the gatecrashers to this particular barbecue. ]
[ Whatever, she doesn't like you, Sturmhond (no she does).
Unfortunately, she has to take her eyes off of his Colgate smile when two Neraki approach with weapons held aloft. One of them is markedly smaller than the others, though Asuka doesn't know enough to note that it's young rather than simply short. It doesn't matter anyway. She began fighting much too young herself. Children die as often as adults do.
So it's with a passionate roar that she starts into a run to give herself the momentum to jump up high enough and pivot with enough speed that the sole of her foot slam onto the taller Neraki's face with a sickening crack. That's enough to stun and bring it down while causing the smaller one to hesitate. Fear is the biggest weakness of all. She yells out a come on at the young Neraki as soon as she lands back on earth with fists up, ready for a fight.
Still it hesitates long enough for Asuka to talk to Sturmhond over her shoulder. ]
This is your plan? Did nobody think of a cleaner exit?
don't worry! i've been terribly slow with all of these
[ Sturmhond, on the other hand, does know it's a child. He doesn't stop her, nor does he allow his abhorrence to show on his face. Instead, he keeps fighting. He tells himself that he won't remember the number of the young ones that he's killed (12, counting the attack on the camp). He tells himself that it's kinder to kill them quickly, like this, than let them way to see the last days of their world.
It's terrible, either way. So he doesn't tell Asuka any of that. Whether she'd be content to keep fighting or not, he doesn't mind. He won't put the burden on her. Instead he supports her, shooting the ones around her, and keeping his voice jovial instead of heavy.
He rides Korol around, and as he passes her, he smiles. His sword drives into the shoulder of a Neraki bearing down on her. ]
Oh, we did. Believe me. We simply have to be out in time for them to do it.
Speaking of which, we'll do well to pick the pace up, here.
[ It would be a disappointing end to the day if they all died when the bombs go off, after all. ]

Why? Am I wrong?
