She scoffs now, crossing her arms and glancing away.]

[ That makes him laugh. Does she mean his age, or his gender in general terms?

He folds his arms, arching an eyebrow at her. ]

Would it be better coming from a girl? I could see if one's available, if you like.

Preferably one of your age, and perhaps at the same time, so the sting can be twice as bad.

[ Not his gender, then. He answers that with a smile. ]

I would say one's wisdom is not defined by their age, Isha.

But I wouldn't want to look arrogant about it.

[She's just going to set a hand behind his neck and give him a look, complete with brows slightly raised.]

Sturmhond, one day you will understand that almost everything I say is not to be taken in earnest. [She grins, almost wolfish.] There can only be one arrogant person on this ship, and people come to expect that of me.

[She jerks the back of his head just enough to likely irritate him.]

[ He doesn't look irritated. He doesn't react at all, except to smile back. ]

I think you rather protest too much.
