[Well. . . that didn't sound ideal, at least not to someone who was used to having her own space. But there isn't much she can do but accept it, so she squares her shoulders and nods, gaze flickering to his flashing blue cuff]
Thank you. . . I appreciate the assistance. It's nice to meet someone else from the team I was assigned.
For Mitsuru (Neheda drop log)
Why had they been taken to a compound? What had those collars been for? In his experience, putting a collar on someone is never a good sign. ]
And you have no memory of what happened when you got there?
Your absence was strange. Completely unexplained, and life on Selena went on as normal. I assumed you'd shipped out. Clearly that was wrong.

[How worrying it sounds, too, but. . . well. She couldn't help it]
At any rate, we've all seemed to make it back to the ship safely. That's something to be grateful for.

It is. Though I don't see everyone I talked to. Perhaps they're with other vessels.
I am glad that you're safe. Have you been told what team you're on, and where you'll be living?

[a pause, and she asks with idle curiosity]
Do you enjoy being on the Blue team?

You're the first person who's asked me that.
I suppose I do; it's what I'm used to.
[ Field command, strategy, logistics - all of that, he's very much used to. Given the choice, Blue is where he would have assigned himself, too. ]
That's not to say it's always easy. The calls we have to make are sometimes very hard.
[ That's putting it mildly. He'd had to make the call to either kill his closest friend, or himself.
Not easy. ]
If you have the stomach for that, I think you'll like Blue well enough.
