It's not that they don't trust you.

[ Sturmhond can't exactly speak for them, of course. But he genuinely believes this to be the case. He can't imagine that Barnaby's friends would have turned against him, though he can see why they might worry if they perceive that he has a weakness. They would be worried he might get himself hurt. ]

They're concerned for you. Show them that their concerns are misplaced. That's the real issue here. Their fears will come to nothing, so long as you keep your resolve. The only reason you would have to worry about what they say, my friend, is if there's some part of you that imagines they're right.

[ So at this, he looks at him, raising an eyebrow. ]
